Something I never thought I’d be writing about, welcome back reader. Today I’m talking about one particular item that somehow I have grown to really love. And that would be the bum bag. Now, it’s no secret that the bum bag has had an easy life throughout fashion. After all, we used to call them fanny packs, the way we saw or maybe still see these bags is well associated with movie subculture feelings. There’s always that one member in a teen rom-com wearing one, (I don’t need to list as we would be here hours!)
However, recently (I say recently) these questionable fashion accessories have become a part of mainstream trends. As a more masculine take on the man bag and tom-boy streak for you ladies. These bags have actually become not just a high street favourite but designers are also keeping a note on the popularity.
Its cross-body pouch can fit in a lot of your day to day life. I hadn’t really delved into the bum bag trend just because I thought I was past that (yes, reader I might be twenty-two but in my defence, could you really see me wear one? Exactly) but actually I’m quite liking the accessory!
It has that style savviness about them, from Gucci and Prada joining the bum bag parade and seen on the most influential. The accessory has found a new home with the twenty-first century (early) teenager but also adults too.
So today I thought I would talk about the bum bag I have purchased from Zara and where you can get your own.
Now you can imagine me diving into the sales at Zara, coming across multiple jeans, floral printed shirts. It was messy, to say the least.
But one item I came across was this black embroidered bum bag, with subtle design and appropriate size.
Well, it’s exactly what is needed, arriving at the party slightly late but always in style.
Now their plenty of these to go around, though you could head to the high-street like me. There are also plenty of fashion-savvy ones in vintage shops and Depop has a hefty amount.

My two bags are from Zara, each really different but has this fashion-forward element to them. With the buckles and zips it has this free standing to accessorise and accompany a diverse range of outfit choices.
And with Zara being bouji, they want their consumers to feel that also. Each of my bags are from Zara same purpose but the design, the pattern, everything about the bags itself is individual and I think that’s really promising for a diverse consumption group.
Some brands just stick to a similar design or pattern and then plater it in different colours or fabrics.
And with the accessories being neutral and dark is that they go with everything you want to wear. Though I’ve paired them both in similar outfits. Each produce a stand out quality amongst my outfit choices!
So Reader, head to Depop head to Zara and get yourself one of these bad boys. You won’t regret it! And that is a promise.
